Values

God

God is our highest value and treasure in and over all things.  We pursue His glory and fame in every area of life.  (Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Isaiah 61:3; 2 Corinthians 4:6; Colossians 3:23)

Gospel

We value the news that Jesus, the God-man, moved into our world to live our life and die our death so that, through repentant faith in Jesus, we might be reconciled to God for eternity.  The gospel changes everything about us from the inside out and becomes our motivation for holiness, love, and action.  We strive to make this gospel functionally central to everything we do and say.  Every other value flows from this.  (Isaiah 61:1; Romans 1:16-17; 3:23-24; 1 Corinthians 2:2; Galatians 2:14)

Bible

The Bible is the primary and final source in nurturing our spirituality and for growing and flourishing as Jesus’ disciples.  We do not believe that sound doctrine and obedient living are mutually exclusive values but rather co-dependent.  We strive for solid, Biblical doctrine and humble obedience simultaneously.  (Joshua 1:8; Jeremiah 15:16; John 5:39; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Titus 2:1)

Community

The gospel brings unlikely people together by breaking down barriers of pride.  God is creating a new community marked by love, faith, grace, and truth.  (Matthew 5:14; Acts 2:42-47; Galatians 3:28; Titus 2:2-8; 1 John 3:11-18; Revelation 7:9)

Prayer

Because of Jesus’ atoning death and resurrection, God’s people can now approach God without shame or condemnation. (Matthew 6:5-13; Luke 11:1-13)

Renewal

The gospel renews individuals as well as cities.  The gospel motivates us to love, seek justice, pursue reconciliation, and work for restoration.  (Isaiah 61:4; Jeremiah 29:7; Luke 10:25-37; Revelation 21:5)

Mission

God is on a mission to restore all things to Himself through Jesus Christ.  The gospel compels us to join this mission by living and speaking the gospel message as missionaries in our city and world.  We are compelled to go into the world, taking risks to make Jesus famous.  (Matthew 28:18-20; Colossians 1:20; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Revelation 5:9)

Beauty

God has made a beautiful universe, a beautiful earth, beautiful people, and has gifted people with the ability to appreciate and cultivate beauty.  Sin, death, and the curse have marred this beauty and threaten us with eternal darkness.  We want to cultivate and appreciate beauty all around us in order to reflect God’s ultimate goodness and beauty.  (Genesis 1:31; 3:1-24; Psalm 19:1; 27:4; Habakkuk 2:14; Romans 3:23)
