Story
The story of God’s redemption of people throughout history has formed us, because we are woven into that story by his grace. God creates us, interacts with us, dwells with us, redeems us by his blood, calls us to join his mission, and obtains final victory for us so that he might be glorified. We listen to others’ stories so that we might help them find their place in God’s greater story. We tell that story, retell that story, and seek to live out its endless implications.
Listen
God speaks to us through his Word and through his Spirit, his people, his world and prayer. We listen to God, eager to learn, understand, and be changed. We also are quick to listen to others so that we might understand and respond in truth and grace.
Serve
We are glad servants of God and servants of all people. We owe everyone love, because Jesus has shown us unimaginable love - becoming a servant, dying on a cross, and rising from death. We are compelled to serve others as a way of life because of His grace.
Eat
We need to eat, as a reminder for our common need for God’s provision both physically and spiritually. We eat with others to help bring them into the family of God. We eat a commemorative meal to celebrate the work of Jesus on our behalf. We eat meals with people who are very different from us and who are not in our immediate family so that we might make and multiply disciples for Jesus.
Celebrate
In the Old Testament, the Israelites regularly celebrated God’s provision, care, rescue, and mercy. We are called to celebrate all those things even more so because of Jesus. We celebrate these things through everyday thankfulness, in our regular gatherings in Frontier Communities, and in our larger gatherings.
Rest
We must rest because we are finite creatures. We have been made to need God. We rest in God’s power and provision, and we rest in Jesus, our Prince of Peace, because we do not need to seek to justify ourselves through our own work but are justified by God because of Jesus’ perfect work.
Re-create
We are called to enjoy God’s good gifts, so we create, play, and re-create. We seek the beauty that God has made in the world, and we seek to renew those things which are broken so that people can see more of what God is like.
Multiply
We are called to fill the earth with worship for Jesus. So, we want to make disciples who make disciples. We want to multiply our Frontier Communities, our large gatherings, and new churches throughout the region and world. We are not called to be a comfortable clique but a multiplying body.
