Beliefs

First, we are Christians which distinguishes us from other world religions and cults. Therefore, we adhere to the historic Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds as well as to the doctrinal statement of the National Association of Evangelicals.

Second, we are Missional:

  • We believe that our local churches must be faithful to the content of unchanging Biblical doctrine (Jude 3).
  • We believe that our local churches must be faithful to the continually changing context of the culture(s) in which they minister (1 Corinthians 9:19-23).
  • We believe that churches should bring disciples into the local church so that they can be trained to go out into their culture as effective missionaries.

Third, we are Reformed, meaning that we believe in the five “Solas” of the Reformation, namely, that salvation comes:

  • Sola Gratia – By Grace Alone
  • Sola Fide – Through Faith Alone
  • Solus Christus – In Christ Alone
  • Sola Scriptura – Revealed Through Scripture Alone
  • Soli Deo Gloria – To the Glory of God Alone

Fourth, we are Baptists:

  • We believe that only professing Christians should be baptized, by immersion.
  • We believe that membership – believers covenanting together – is essential for church unity, purity, and responsibility.
  • We believe that doctrine shouldn’t be hidden as if it were bad.

Portions of the above taken from the doctrinal statement of the Acts 29 Network.
